Train Piñata

This train piñata is built like a proper locomotive, 20 inches of bright crepe paper with a stack, wheels, and a cowcatcher. It suits the age it is usually bought for, which is small: light enough to hang from a doorway and sturdy enough to survive being carried around before anyone gets to break it. This is a handmade party piñata, not a mass-pressed shell: corrugated cardboard underneath, paper mache over it, and crepe paper fringe applied by hand across the whole surface.

Perfect for: train birthdays, first birthdays, toddler parties, transportation themes, boy birthdays, and all-aboard baby showers.

It arrives empty and takes a surprising amount, so fill it about two thirds full and stop there. For toddlers, soft favors like stickers, board-book-sized notes, and fruit snacks beat hard candy.

Run it along the wall above a low table so small guests can actually see it. The rest of our piñatas covers the other classic first-birthday shapes.
