This Damascus Steel is 110 Layers of stainless steel with a Rockwell hardness of 59-60 and vacuum heat treated. The two steel types that make up the Small Rose Pattern of the blade are 440C and N690 high alloy.

Steel Type
The blade steel type is high alloy stainless Damascus steel. Since this is a solid high quality steel type there is no need for harder core steel. Core steel is required in most industrially manufactured Damascus blades. Instead, this blade is precision CNC full flat grind from a solid bar of beautiful high alloy Damascus steel.
