Ruby Star Set Barley Pattern Gold Plated Tie Slide

A slim gold plated bar, engraved with a fine barley pattern of wavy lines running the length of the face. At one end the engraving gives way to a plain polished panel set with a small ruby, held in a star-cut mount. The points of the star are cut into the metal so the stone sits at their centre.

The proportions are narrow, which sits well with a modern tie and keeps the bar flat across the blade. The fold-over back takes in both the tie and the shirt placket, so the two are held together rather than the tie alone. Gold plating reads well against a cream or pale blue shirt, and the red stone picks up a burgundy tie.
